Lumber & Building Supplies
Schriever, LA
Schriever sits between Houma and Thibodaux, surrounded by sugarcane fields, old family
property, working businesses, and roads that have connected upper Terrebonne Parish for generations.
The community has grown steadily, but it still carries the practical character of a place
where homes, farms, shops, schools, and churches are built to be used. South Louisiana heat,
rain, humidity, and storms make dependable materials especially important.
Frost Lumber is a short drive away in Thibodaux, with lumber, roofing, siding, hardware,
paint supplies, windows, doors, and building materials for repairs, renovations, and
new construction. Customers can bring in a list, measurements, or a question and talk with
people who understand the materials and the work behind them.
A Lil’ Lagniappe...
Ardoyne Plantation stands along Little Bayou Black near Schriever. Construction began
in 1888 and was completed in 1894, creating one of Louisiana’s most distinctive examples
of rural Victorian Gothic architecture.
Its steep rooflines, pointed arches, detailed woodwork, and deep galleries make it look
unlike the more familiar plantation homes found elsewhere in South Louisiana. The design
feels almost storybook, especially beneath the live oaks and hanging moss surrounding the house.
Ardoyne remains a recognizable Schriever landmark and a reminder that local architecture
has never been limited to one style or one period.
Schriever has always had a way of making the unexpected feel right at home.
