Our Past Is Our Present to You!

There are some places around here that are worth slowing down for.

Laurel Valley Plantation is one of them.

If you're coming up the bayou on Highway 308 toward Thibodaux, Laurel Valley is right there on the edge of town.  It's one of those places where you can still get a feel for what South Louisiana looked like generations ago.

There's an old store. A museum. Historic buildings. Lots of stories.

And hanging outside the store and museum is a sign that says:

OUR PAST IS OUR PRESENT TO YOU!

The words were created for Laurel Valley and its story, and we think they're pretty fitting for a place like this.

At Frost Lumber, we like to think we share that sentiment.

Frost Lumber has been part of the original fabric of Thibodaux since 1882.  We've watched the town change, watched new things come along, and watched plenty of old things stay right where they belong.

And that's one of the things we enjoy about being here.

Laurel Valley has its history.

Thibodaux has its history.

Frost Lumber has its history.

They're all part of the same place, and we're lucky to be a small part of that story.

That's what we like about A Little Lagniappe.  Every now and then, we'll share a little something we think is worth knowing, remembering, or talking about.

Sometimes it'll just be something we think you'll enjoy.

And if you haven't been to Laurel Valley lately, it's worth a stop. You're practically driving right past it when you're coming up the bayou on 308 into Thibodaux.

Take a little time.

Look around.

There's a lot of history sitting right there.
